About Tropicana Field:
Tropicana Field is the world's only professional sports facility that features live cownose rays.
Through a unique partnership with the Florida Aquarium, there are over 30 rays
that fans can touch and feed throughout the game. In addition, Tropicana Field
features the world's second-largest cable-supported domed roof built to
withstand wind of up to 115 miles per hour.
The Ted Williams Museum and Hitters Hall-of-Fame moved to Tropicana Field in 2006. Fans can view
many artifacts and pictures of the "Greatest hitter that ever lived." These
memorable displays range from Ted Williams' days in the military through his
professional playing career. This museum is dedicated to some of the greatest
players including Willie Mays, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, and Sadaharu Oh.
Directions to Tropicana Field:
Tropicana Field is located directly east of interstate 275 in St. Petersburg. The dome is visible from the highway. I-375 and I-175 both veer off of interstate 275 and feed into Tropicana Field.
- Fans traveling southbound on I-275 from North Pinellas or Tampa are encouraged to take exit 23B (5th Avenue North), and continue south on 20th Street to 1st Ave. S. or 3rd Ave. S.
- Fans traveling northbound on I-275 are encouraged to take exit 21 (31st Street) and follow 31st Street to 5th Avenue South.
Additional Routes:
- From Tampa (north): Take I-275 South. Exit 23B (5th Avenue North), and continue south on 20th Street to 1st Ave. S. or 3rd Ave. S.
- From St. Petersburg (south): Take I-275 North to Exit 21 (31st Street) and follow 31st Street to 5th Avenue South.
- From Clearwater/N. Pinellas: South on McMullen Booth Road or US 19, proceed East to I-275 South.
- From South Pinellas beaches: Take Treasure Island or Pasadena Ave. to 1st Ave. South or take the Pinellas Bayway to I-275 North.
Parking at Tropicana Field:
The Rays go green — carpool to Tropicana Field!! All vehicles with four or more passengers get FREE parking at all home games in 2008. For vehicles with fewer than four passengers, parking will cost $10. The Rays will also offer parking in remote lots for $5.
